YN 560-III

Been trying to get on the photographer sides of things for a few months now, does the TN 560-III need anything to connect to the camera? The cameras internal settings aren't compatible as far as I read, how can I make the flash trigger when taking a picture. The camera will sit on my hot shoe for this event. T4i

Yes, it will fit into the hotshoe on top of your camera. It's a manual flash, so the camera will blindly trigger it, but you'll have to set the power and zoom on the flash itself.

I understand that, however my camera isn't picking up the external flash, is there a way to sync it or do I have to do something in the settings?

If its properly mounted in the hotshoe and has fresh batteries it should fire. You havent disabled the flash firing in the custom function menu by chance have you?

Nah thats on, its attatched to the hot shoe fine because I cant adjust any of the on board flash settings, the pilot takes a nice flash but when I shoot it does. My shutter speed is on 50, does it have anything to do with that? My camera doesnt make a loud shutter like I normally here. My Canon Flash I previously had worked fine, I'm not sure how to make this one work at all.

In a all honesty I'm a little confused with your last explanation. Sorry about that.

1. First off does it fire when you press the shutter or not?

2. If it does fire is it the exposure you are concerned about?

It does not matter if it is not compatible to your camera's internal settings. Since it is a manual flash all it needs is to be triggered when press you shutter. That is all the camera will do for your flash. You need to adjust the flash duration (power output), manually on the flash itself to achieve correct flash exposure.

No it doesn't sorry, my phone keeps correcting the doesn't because I'm not using a comma

Sorry to be a bit vague with this response, but I read somewhere that you MUST use the batteries recommend in the instructions for this unit to work correctly.

If its firing via the test button then its not likely to be the batteries.

What mode is the camera in? Put it into manual and try it.

I tried manual, still didn't work. I am using cheap batteries, the test pilot does flash tho.

press few times triggering mode button (2nd upper right button) of the yn-560iii to put the flash
on manual mode . you will see on the upper left corner of flash's LCD word "Manual". otherwise
flash won't fire.

It's on manual, sorry guys I know this makes me sound stupid but...
