I just got my first Lee filters, the 4x6 ND filters. I was wondering just how delicate these filters are? They don't look like they can take much flexing. I've heard of people dropping them thus shattering them but I'm more concerned about how well they survive being carried in a camera bag along with the other gear one carries. At over $100 each I sure don't want to abuse them beyond their limits.

I carry mine in the lee multi filter pouch (10) in my rucksack and haven't had any breakages at all. Any glass filters like the big stopper or 4x4 cpl I carry in these http://www.speedgraphic.co.uk …filter_case_/14975_p.html (external link)

They fair just fine; I have 6 GNDs, a CPL, and a Big Stopper in my bag. The only time I had any issue was when I crashed on a snowmobile and the backpack broke my fall

Thanks for the comments. They both came in their own pouch so I'll use those.

The resin ones are quite durable and I doubt they're prone to shattering but the glass ones require a little more care. The 10 filter pouch is quite sturdy compared to the 3 filter pouch although I'm sure they're both adequate for normal transportation.

Lowepro has quite nice filter pouch:

I have used it for 100*150mm and 100*100mm filters. Lee filter holder fits into it also.

That holder looks interesting. I checked, and it is available through Amazon for about $25 -- half the price of the Lee case.

For now, I am using the Lee case that came with the foundation kit. I bought a 2nd Lee microfiber 3-filter sleeve for my Lee 0.9 ND filter and HiTech 10-stop ND filter so I could fit all five filters in the same case. However, I would like to get a better designed wallet for them eventually. That Clik wallet looks like the best "bang for the buck" at Amazon's price.

Looks like you got the last one. It's out of stock now, but Amazon is still taking orders at the lower price. I decided to go ahead and order one -- I'm not in a hurry to get it, so being out of stock is not an issue for me.

I use the LowePro case personally, but I've seen guys who used CD cases too.

I had the Lee Filter wallet and it was phenomenal. To big and bulky. I had the lowepro and wasn't really happy with the build. Bought that red click elite and it is exactly what I was looking for. Perfect protection and small enough to fit in the pocket of my photo vest or my Billingham deltas. Very happy with it.
