The latest version of Canons Digital Photo Professional software posted on 9/20/13 at Canon USA website lists the M2 in it's supported camera list. I would expect an announcement soon.

The Auto Lighting Optimizer is a function that is only available for RAW images shot with EOS-1D X, EOS-1D C, EOS-1D Mark IV, EOS 5D Mark III, EOS 5D Mark II, EOS 6D, EOS 7D, EOS 70D, EOS 60D, EOS 50D, EOS REBEL T5i/700D, EOS REBEL SL1/100D, EOS REBEL T4i/650D, EOS REBEL T3i/600D, EOS REBEL T2i/550D, EOS REBEL T1i/500D, EOS REBEL T3/1100D, EOS M2 and EOS M. You cannot apply the Auto Lighting Optimizer's adjustment contents to RAW images shot with other cameras.

Cheers,
Roqdawg

w/ the 70d sensor, it should be the class of the class, and will get one immediately

If you see me with a wrench - call 911. 5d3, T3i, 17-55 2.8, 50 1.8, 70-200 2.8 L II, 24-105 f4. YN 565, Precision Lupe attached to hacked extended eyecup (no sticky frame) - old enough to have owned an original F-1

The Sony full-frame NEX is set to be announced in October - with its sensor size alone, it probably trumps every other mirrorless camera out there, except maybe the Leica M240.

Full frame would be nice, depending on the price, adapter, etc. Though I have to admit some of my most favorite shots from the T3i, so the updated sensor would be OK.

There is another, newer version of DPP on Canon USA dated 9/24/13. I did not download this one....I wonder if they removed the M2 references?

Dunno if it will be able to AF like the 70Ds sensor...and really, full frame? I still don't get the appeal of these small mirrorless cameras...if I have to carry a bag, might as well be a SLR. If I am carrying a compact, I want to actually be able to put away in a pocket or small case.

Cameras: 7D2, S100
Lenses: 17-55 f/2.8 IS USM, 18-135 STM, 24-70 f/4L IS USM, 50 f/1.4 USM,70-300L IS USM
Other Stuff: 430 EX II, Luma Labs Loop 3, CamRanger

Full-frame lenses don't have to be huge. Just ask Leica.

For me, the entire mirror and viewfinder setup is a waste of space and weight... 400g less camera means I can carry 400g more lens.

I did, but I was broke after some nice person said "hello".

canon will not introduce a full frame mirrorless in near future. they are just introducing high quality M lenses with a viewfinder, and 70 AF, as well as their very high quality lenses, canon will start making strong headway in to the mirroless market. Sony's weakness remains the quality to price ration of their lenses. 18-55 stm and 22 f2, are both fantastic and cheap, and their new ultrawide at 400 with IS and great sharpness is great also. they will need a couple of more small primes, may be 50 and 70 mm.

However good the Sony offering is, for those of us with an EOS lens collection the EOS M series has to be the first choice, if they get the details right. I know that in practice I would use M lenses 90% of the time but I like the idea that you could pack a second camera bag with the adaptor and some serious L glass for those special shots that occur a few times on a trip.

Is the 70D sensor really going to put the EOS M up with Panasonic and Olympus for autofocus? When I tried live view focusing with the 70D and an STM lens it was very quick to actually focus the lens but only after taking a significant delay to think about it. Canon's biggest advantage over the existing players if they expand further into mirrorless with be their name.
