Im stuck between these two cameras. I don't like how hefty my 1dc is and Im not impressed by its noise when shooting low light which I do a lot. I also don't like how little battery I get out of the 1dc. Does the 1d mark ii improve on this? The reasons I like the 5d is its ff and seems like it will be lighter to carry around and I also do a lot of street and portraits. I also seem to notice noise is very good looking when it happens on the 5dc which is cool to me. Like a grainy tone.

So if I upgraded do you think it will feel like the 1d mark ii would be everything I wanted in the 1dc cause I love the feel of it even though it's hefty.
Or
Will the 5dc fill my needs and more because of the ff, weight, and better noise in low light?

What are your opinions? Like I said I shoot a lot of street and portrait type stuff but love a good action shot.

I sold my 1D Mk II and bought a 5Dc. I didn't need the supreme AF of the 1D and I preferred the lighter weight, better IQ, better sharpness (weak AA filter), better ISO performance and better batteries of the 5D.
If you really need continuous autofocus forget about the 5D/5D II.

I have both and use them for different things: the 1D II N for birds and the 5D for everything else, which in my case is: some landscape/cityscape, street snaps, an occasional portrait. They're just two different beasts. If I had to choose it would be the 1D because birds are my main subject. But if my main subjects were landscapes or portraits or street work, I would choose the 5D because of the ff, lighter weight, better ISO performance and generally better IQ.

Very similar picture quality IMHO. Had both, 1dmk2 for sports and 5dc for portraits.

^^This^^

IMO, they are different tools. I had both at one time also. The 1D2 had a beast of an autofocus system for a camera its age. The 5DC took beautiful portraits and landscapes. Both are a bit limited by modern standards in low-light situations, but in well-lit environments, take images just as nice as more modern bodies.

I loved the 5d images but also wanted the features of a 1d series body. I went with the 1ds miii for the best of both worlds. I know it is likely out of your price range but could you manage a 1ds mii perhaps?

My sister, the professional baker and cake decorator once told me that my camera takes great pics. My reply was that I thought her oven baked great cakes.

1ds2 all the way! Actually, how much do you have to spend? There is a 1d2N on the forum for $400, which is a steal. You could get both cameras for less than 1k.
I had both at one time as well, fantastic combo.
