hi there,

yep its pretty cool being the only street circuit race at night on the F1 calendar. The only drawback for people wanting photos are that we are all behind fences, save for the pro photogs.

so all the photos here are shot behind fences.

Sorry for digging up a slightly older thread, but I'm hoping to go to this race next year. What lens were you using and what sort of height were you ie stood at street level or up in a stand?

Hello there,

Most if not all the shots were at street level. I had tickets for the pit grandstand and was only there for the start of the race to experience the sound and experience. After that was more productive to go to the corners.

All shots with the 300 f2.8 IS on a 1D4. All softness due to user error as shutter speed was not high enough and in some instances had to manual focus as the fences were in the way.
