Not sure if this has been posted but I stumbled across THIS (external link) - Made by 'Hoocap'. A combined cap and hood...

I like the idea. Though I doubt I will make the investment.

I am always looking to check I haven't lost lens caps.

With hood on lenses take up so much room in the bag or need hood reversing to fit.

That is quite an interesting concept and novel idea; I applaud the inventor and wish him well.

It appears it may be in the $60 range when converted to dollars and that's a bit pricey for my tastes. It would be another story if bundled with the lens. I wonder how tight a "fit" the cap portion provides against dust. Also, I wonder if there is sufficient clearance for using something like a CPL mounted on the lens.

It's not something I'd by myself, but I've never seen this done before but is quite a clever idea.

Not sure I like the design. Looks to me that for long lenses, the petals aren't long enough. And it looks like there is no design that will work for wide lenses since the petals would be too narrow to cover the lens completely if they were to avoid vignetting.

I am serious....and don't call me Shirley.

Nice but it's just another gizmo I don't need. Lost lens caps aren't a big issue for me.

Too bad you can't reverse the hood.
