I just downloaded DPP 3.13. When I run the installer it just tells me that DPP is already installed. I checked and the version number is still 3.11. I tried it twice, no luck. Running WIN7-64 on an HP System. Any ideas?

We on this forum are generally "clueless" when it comes to this kind of thing. We do try to help, but I'd suggest contacting Canon support as well!

I've been using DPP since my XSi. It has always just installed right over the previous version. I don't get it. Canon support may be the best idea.

I had no problem updating at all. In fact I don't upload to a computer file as the instructions insist, I just tell it to run and it updates from there.

That's interesting. HOW? DPP 3.11 does not appear to have UPDATE anywhere in the menu system.

EDIT:
Checked out my 60D on Canon.com. DPP 3.11 is the latest version for the 60D. I got v3.13 from the 70D site. Maybe that is the problem.

Could be, but that would be a really surprising change in policy. Every new version of DPP has always been back-compatible to older cameras.

P.S. I just checked my DPP and it is 3.13. I must have installed it several weeks ago although I really don't remember - the senior moments have lately been piling up. At any rate, it works fine with both the 5D2 and the 40D.

I tried updating EOS Utility updater, too. That didn't help, either. Waiting on a response from Canon helpdesk.

How did you get there? I just went to usa.canon.com and it's showing dppw31345.exe (external link) for all EOS cameras. That's DPP version 3.13.45. I have not updated to 3.13.45 so I can't be 100% sure there is nothing wrong with version 3.13.45 installer.

Did you try uninstalling DPP 3.11 before installing 3.13?

note:
I just noticed 3.13.45 date stamp is today (09/24/13). Perhaps there was a problem with 3.13 installer and it has just been re-published today.

Good point. I looked at my DPP again and it is 3.13.0.1, a different version.

Ok, here is the scoop. This morning I got 3.13.01 from the 70D site. It did not install. This evening I went to the 60D site and got 3.13.45. It installed just fine. I am all properly updated.

I went back to the 70D site. It is also now 3.13.45.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I got DPP 3.13.45 working now.
