I know the 5d will copmletely blow the 7d out of the water without a doubt, but does the 7d have ANY kind of advantage over the 5d3? other than being smaller and lighter of course

the crop factor, so you'll have more reach. It's also slightly faster FPS

For reach limited situations 7d would be better. Also higher fps. If you shooting with strobes, higher max sync speed.

Having a Full frame And and APS-C?

I shoot landscapes, sports and everything in between, I have a 7d right now, and I'm debating whether or not to step it up to a 5D 3, I've seen lots of people keep both cameras because of the sensor, would it be good to keep both or sell the aps-c towards the big sensor?

Overall image quality is probably better on the 5d3 but if you crop to the field of view the 7d gives you end up with approx an 8mp image vs an 18mp inage, hence loosing cropping power (handy for sports and wildlife)

so the 5d 3 would be better if image/file size isn't a problem?

the 5d3 would be better if you have access to supertelephotos (or don't shoot faraway things), but if you're reach limited in your lenses, the 7d might be better.

I believe teamspeed did this comparisoon somewhere on the thread recently.

oh okay, the only telephoto I have now is a 70-200 but I'd consider getting bigger telephotos if I went the 5d3

The 5d3 image quality will be better if you dont need to crop to much. The 7d does have the advantage of 8fps vs 6, which to be fair is probably not a deal breaker for most

If you are into sports a lot, why dont take 1d mark 4 route? It has same price like 5D3, built like a tank, 10fps, IQ is better than 7d, has crop sensor, superb AF.

The viewfinders for both the 5D3 and 7D are 100%.
