I think the 11 AF points work great on the 6D. Especially the center.

The 7D just has more.

Yeah, the 7D is a beast at shooting sports.

it really is, so the next step up from a 7d would be the 5D 3 then?

Yes, the 5D3's autofocus is the next step up from the 7D. The autofocus on the 6D isn't bad. It's just not comparable to the 7D's or the 5D3's in certain areas. I have both the 7D and the 6D and each one works great for me, for the purpose I bought them for.

The 1D IV blows away the 7D for AF and (IMO) image quality.

For sports/action I would still give it the edge over the 5D3 with the 10FPS. In fact that is why I own the 1D IV and not the 5D3 :p.

If you don't want the built in grip and can live with 6FPS, I am sure the 5D3 is a great camera though.

very true as well, i dont know how reputable snapsorts analyses are but according to them the 5D3 was better than the 1D IV haha

From the few times I looked Snapsorts just compares feature lists, not clear that they ever actually hold the camera in their hands, much less use them.

snapsort just compares technical details and doesn't use any actual performance tests to decide which is a dominant dslr

Center point on my 6D is spot on awesome, it has difficulty with outer points from time to time in less constrasty / lower light situations but nothing dealbreaking.
