sirquack Goldmember More info | Sep 24, 2013 12:24 | #2 I would have rather had the focus more towards the front of the image. The back bowl and window appear to be in focus, but the foreground object, which is one of the more interesting parts of the image is OOF. Name is Ron.

It's a wash basin so I focused inside the "bowl"

Puckman Cream of the Crop More info | Sep 24, 2013 12:42 | #5 It's not that it's more interesting, to me at least. It's just an element of composition that I notice on my own shots. The window and windowsill are the "background". Your subject are the 2 pieces of the wash basin. So, the eye should be drawn to those two things first. The eye is always drawn to the sharpest part of the image. In this case, the back basin is fine, but it almost looks like the back basin and the window are the subject. If it were me, I'd have enough DOF to have the 2 basin pieces in focus, and the window more blurred out. Sony A7RII and a bunch of lenses.

Puckman Cream of the Crop More info | Sep 24, 2013 12:46 | #6 I'll moderate my previous comment with this: In your photo, we're talking about minute adjustments. It's not like things are WAY OOF. the DOF in-focus section can simply scoot forward by an inch or so, IMO. So it's pretty close. Sony A7RII and a bunch of lenses.

The green of outdoors and the vertical in the doorframe draw attention from the patterns of your washbasins. 1D-III with stuff to stick on it:

What I meant by more interesting is that the basin's themselves appear to be what you were focusing on as your subjects. I personally love the detail of wood, and especially older wooden utensils and objects, so it would be more interesting, to me, to see the grain of the front basin in focus with the window being the one out of focus. I hope that makes more sense. Yup, and now that you've made me "see it" I couldn't agree more.
