Hi all,

Having a great time working with some new processing techniques and ideas and happy to be moving forwards!

Please do take the time to add something to the thread, even if it is about asking a how to etc.

cheers,

Absolutely love the layers of depth and texture you have achieved here. Did you use any ND filters for this shot?

Thanks for your input.

I used a Big Stopper, but any heavy duty ND would have done. I prefer the LEE filters as they provide the greatest IQ and have the most manageable blue colour cast. Just setting the colour temp to about 8K starts the casting fix.

Hoya (I have one) leaves a magenta cast that is hard to fix, but piggy backed with a LEE the cast is no longer present to my eye.

I forgot to mention that in the processing I masked out the rocks and everything below the horizon and made adjustments to those areas and also did some masking specific for the sky. Slow cloud movement was really good in that it resulted in a realistic sky which is not always caught in a long exposure shot.
