found a spot behind a catholic school so I drove in quickly snapped the pic and left before someone complained about it.

I don't really remember my settings but I think they were CWB, 1", F2.7, ISO 400

still no tripod. can't wait till it gets warmer!

Maybe if you tried either flash shot or ISO1600 might have given better effect. I agree the location and lighting wasn't too flattering.

I would have used a different angle, shooting from the front left corner instead of the side. Tripod would have helped slow down the shutter speed. Nice car, though.

alright, guess its back to driving around again lol, not many places leave their lights on in a small town like this lol.

I have a question what type of lens do most of you use when takeing a picture say 20-25ft away from a car and then also when you get right up on it like 5 or lower?

20-25" away would be a prime candidate for a 50mm f/1.8 (or f/1.4), especially if shooting in dark situations- plus you'd get the bonus of a super crisp lens.

As for up close and personal (say at a car show), I'f use the wide end of your widest lens (in my case- 18mm). You are focusing only on a small part of the car, and the wide angle often creates distortions that accentuate the curves of the car.
