First confirmed record of an Eagle (Golden Eagle) taking down a deer (sitka). In Eastern Russia. Capture via trail camera.

Incredible photos! I've never heard of death by stress. Does this mean the deer bled out or something?

No, it implies heart failure or stoppage due to any 'stressing' factor, such as intense fright.

Very interesting. Just a note here that the neighbour of mine who is developing a golf course, where I got my fox photos, saw, personally, a couple of years ago on one of his fairways an adult eagle swoop down, grab a very young fawn, and attempt to carry it off. The fawn was too heavy and he dropped it, which killed it when it hit the ground - he estimated from a height of 30 feet or so.

There has been a video for years of a golden eagle taking down a deer. Granted it appears it was a trained eagle and the deer was released specifically to be killed....but it has happened.

Have you ever seen the video, (on You Tube) of the Golden dragging wild Goats off of a cliff edge to their untimely end, then carrying one down to it's nest? Amazing video, search You Tube for Golden Eagles and Goats, it will pop up, incredible video of a very intelligent bird!
