Hello, is there any other cheaper alternative for Canon 67 Macrolite Adapter (100L IS + 14EX)? I am asking, because in my country it costs 45$ ;[[I think it is too much for such small thing.

Yeah...really overpriced for simple adapter like this. Cheapest you can get might be ebay. 39US$ including shipping.

I haven't had much joy using ring or twin flash with 100mm lens, you might be better off with normal flash off camera.

I have Macrolite 14EX and 100L, before had generic 100 mm 2.8 - this speedlite was quite awesome and joy to use. I could take photos without any hassel.

Beside thath I have Pocket Wizards and many 550EX, 600EX and 420EX flashes. How you find these are better than special flash dedicated for macro? :D

I find the macro flashes work best for ultra close ups, prefer 430ex and similar for 100L. Mind you I am fed up with the MT24EX, keeps breaking, I think it is going in the bin, i've spent enough already repairing it. The MR14 seems more robust.

Yes its a rip off :-( I'm sure I read somewhere that you could get a cokin adapter but I may be wrong it was a while ago when I was searching for an alternative and I just ended up opting for the canon one.

I'm not a macro expert but I have been quite happy with the result of my 14EX I like the convenience of having it fixed directly to the front of the lens. I've struggled using standard flashes with brackets and diffusers due to the bulk.

I would love to have a go with the 24EX as it seems vey flexible!
