According to the info on Flickr, this photo was taken on my wife's birthday, i.e., January 12th. A fine bird on a fine day.

You did a great job catching him/her feeding. Your Sandhill crane photograph is also very nice

Nice capture. Have you considered pulling up the shadows a bit to get a bit more black feather detail?
