what is all this, the boston tundra club?

they are beastly, i will give it that, but we have absolutely no need for a truck, yet...

Lol, Boston Tundra Club.. I had no need for a truck either, was tooling around in a 2007 WRX Wagon with the 2.5L turbo, that thing was a blast. Then we went the camping route and I needed something to tow a 32' travel trailer that wouldn't be a white knuckle experience. Looking back I wonder how the heck I fit in that "little" car.

My truck fits in my garage, truck is 19' long, garage is 21' so let just say I had to remove everything behind the truck on that side of the garage.

On the photography side, I'm drooling over this deal: http://www.ebay.com …B=true&afsrc=1&rmvSB=true (external link) 70D for $800.. I would turn around and sell my body back to B&H and recoup a few dollars..

Import model so no USA warranty. Might be a warranty going through the seller but not from Canon. Just be careful. I think I read that Canon was cracking down on Import models and getting serviced.

I would also like to know what what other trucks you guys are driving.

From what I see on the road, F150 and Tundras are popular then Silverado/Sierra and last, Dodge.

That fine print will get ya every time: "Import Model with 1-Year USA Seller Warranty".. doh!

Does a 4Runner count? :) It has the V8. My Dad has a F150, my brother has a F250, and both of them have had numerous F250/F350 in the past. Personally it is a complete hit or miss on Ford quality. Some people have had no issues, other, all kinds of crazy stuff that the Dealers can't seem to figure out. Most of the time Ford dealers blame the customer for driving through water in bone dry Texas when the engine clearly has defects, etc. Chevy I stay away from after all of the crazy stories I heard from one of the parts guys, brand new cars with blown head gaskets, etc. And their Active Fuel Management has been buggy as heck.

So, Toyota it is.. Subaru used to be really good, my 2007 WRX was flawless, but lots of the newer engines have issues with drinking oil.

That is always what I watch out for on e-bay.

I had a 4Runner right before the Tundra.

I just won't do Ford because of the horrible experiences my buddy has gone through with them. Different excuses on why the sounds isn't a problem or whatever else he has brought it in for. Just poor CS and that just made me not want to pick up a Ford.

Chevy has that cylinder shut off function and it is crap. lag is not that much of an issue but there are times where I need that power right away to move out of the way and that 1 second delay is not what I want to do. I had the Chevy as a rental and within a day, I went back tot he car rental and swapped it out.

The newer Subarus seems to have a lot of engine issues and requires more maintenance then previous ones. That is what a co-worker said to me and he and spent a lot of time on his.

I know the Tundra has the worse gas mileage but when your talking 1-2mpg difference, your talking a few hundred a year difference maybe.

I'm off to California tomorrow. Andrew, we're actually skipping Yosemite. The drive will be too long. We're hitting L.A., then Death Valley, then Sequoia. If we can swing it, we're going to stop by Salton Sea, too.

Taking photos with a fancy camera does not make me a photographer.

Yeah! We're a bit disappointed. We thought that it'd only be about 4-5 hours from Death Valley, but Rt 120 is closed, so we have to travel South to go back North. That makes it like a 9 hour drive to get there and then another 8-9 hours to get back to L.A. We're already crunched on time. So we'll make a 6 hour drive to Sequoia, instead.
