What do you guys tend to do after you import into Light Room? I've gotten into the habit of Autotone, readjust Exposure (cause Autotone usually messes that up) > Auto WB, then adjust WB to how I like it > Curves adjustments > play with shadow, highlight and black sliders. Rarely ever go into NR or sharpening.

Probably a bazillion reasons why what I'm doing is wrong. I use LR4.

I use the eyedropper tool for WB correction.
-10 highlights; whites
+10 clarity

Tone Curve
Medium contrast or crush blacks

Lens Correction
Enable all three boxes
remove CA if there is any

That's pretty much it.

Can you believe no cell reception in the middle of Death Valley? Spotty wi-fi at the room, too. This was a few days ago... This is us almost 300 feet below sea level standing in Badwater Basin.

One day, we'll have to come back to visit the Badlands.

Here's a wider view of the basin... 11 shots.... but it's only half of the view.

Anyone interested on a trip to Alaska or Iceland?

Very interested, especially Iceland, but probably not this year. WOW Air has pretty great deals on flights to Iceland out of BOS.

Just got back from a travel deal I got on Christmas day, RT to JFK to Abu Dhabi for under $200. My favorite so far:

It was a price mistake. I paid $355 for two tickets and took my mom on vacation.

Here's an article in Forbes: http://www.forbes.com …we-mistakenly-offeredued/ (external link)

Wow! I just paid $900 per person for a direct flight to Paris and thought I was lucky. But man, I like Paris in the spring! :-)

The ticket I got was a price mistake, but ME3 (Three middle eastern airlines - Emirates, Etihad and Qatar) have had very aggressive price offerings in the past year or so that weren't mistakes. There was $800 for two tickets (had to buy two - Valentine's day promo) for NY - Milan RT, lots of fairly inexpensive flights to India / Africa / Asia. They're trying to break into the US market and AA / Delta / United are having a tough time competing with them.

that is a good deal.

could be a marketing ploy, Etihad are gaining ground fast on Emirates, and nothing like a little undercutting on christmas morning to drum up interest!!

Nice shot of the Burj-Khalifa in Dubai too!

Need to rework the merge. Lots of ghosting in the foreground.
