I've always dug the Rolleis/TLRs, do you get much use out of it? It's a shame nobody has ever cobbled together a digi back for them, although I imagine the market for them would be even smaller than that of the Leica digi back.

I finished off 3 rolls with the Rollei yesterday (36 shots) just with Tess, and another roll that was halfway finished. I only use it sparingly - mainly for shoots like this.

Boston - Reykjavik deal is back on WOW site. Wish I could do it this year, but I don't think I'll have enough vacation time. Would def. consider going next April - May.

They don't fly on Saturday, and that kills it for me.

Definitely a selfie, Nathan and definitely a lovely one! :)

LBSimon - thank you for the advice! I will not have a chance to travel across the country as I'll be doing a yoga/surf retreat, but at least I figured one a beautiful west coast beach this time as not to get up at 5am as always ;) So sunsets for a change (@21 mm), surfers (@200) and some yoga portraiture (@135)

I decide to go with inserts and a plain jane backpack as not to attract too much attention. CR is welcoming around 2 mil tourist/yearly so they should have a developed and sophisticated pickpocket mafias also ;) For self defense I'd attach a ball head to the monopod :)))

Any advice on sunrise / sunset spots that are walking distance from Back Bay? My wife and I will be there for 4 nights. At this time we plan to visit Boston Public Garden for sunrises. We won't have a car, but plan to use Uber if needed. We plan to do a trolley tour for 2 of the days which should be a good way to see / get around the city.

Thanks for any input.

I rarely go out to Boston since parking sucks and limited but in Charlestown, you can check out the USS constitution and around that area is Boston Harbor and you can get some there. Long Dwarf is also another nice area to do some of that.

I like to go to Nahant beach and spend some time there. Quieter and the beach is right there.

Castle island is also a good place too. Walk to the middle and you have a circle with benches and around that would also be a nice area.

Hingham docks are also a nice area but again, busy. Not as busy as Boston but in between Nahant and Hingham. I haven't been there for photos or anything but was there with some friends to enjoy and have a good time. You can get there with a Ferry right by the Aquarium I believe. Been a while since I have been there.

Aquarium is also nice and walking towards the harbor is nice.

Those are just some of the places that pop into my head.

you are better off with the sunsets in the back bay area. a short walk on the esplanade, or to the mass ave bridge, and you can get the nice sunset colours of the city.

you can also go to the top of the prudential centre, and take sunset photos - not sure about sunrise, as i do not know what time they open up, but the vantage point is like this:

IMAGE: http://harm.smugmug.com/City-Life/Boston/i-pkZvrsk/0/X2/880A0030-Edit-Edit-X2.jpg

as for sunrises, but wanting to stay in the city centre area, you can go to the martha coakley courthouse, and get the sunrising light on the financial area:

IMAGE: http://harm.smugmug.com/City-Life/Boston/i-r345S6R/0/X2/880A4773-X2.jpg

and the same area for sunset will give you:

LOL. Harm... We talked about this before. It's not the Martha Coakley Courthouse... It's not Joe Moakley Courthouse - named after the late Congressman from S. Boston. If you keep pointing tourists to Martha's courthouse, they're going to have trouble locating it on Google.

So I've been thinking that I'll keep my 70-200. It came in handy on vacation.

Yes, I did want to open the window, but they wouldn't let me! :D

Nice shot from the Burj Khalifa. So you went to Dubai as well as Abu Dhabi? Nice.
