Yeah, 135 on FF is just awesome. 35 to 135 is a bit of a big gap though, thinking I might need to pick me up an 85L v2 next year around bonus time.. you know, in ~350 days.

Nathan Can you repeat the question, please? More info | Feb 11, 2014 20:57 | #1292 Still thinking about getting rid of the 70-200 in favor of a 135. Not sure though... figure the images look pretty close between 2.8 versus 2, right? Especially at 200mm? One's got IS and the other gathers more light. Taking photos with a fancy camera does not make me a photographer.

Not just the extra stop, but something about the combination of the aperture and the focal length.. Ask anyone in the 135L thread and I think they will agree. Donate if you love POTN! | Smugmug

In the 24-200 range....Swapping lens's for a stop of light or wafer thin DOF rarely a factor in most cases....the 24-70 vers 2 and 70-200 vers 2 make the quality differences almost nil IMO. I will stick to the quality zooms for 99/100 shots and miss the 1/100 need for the prime advantage. Now the long primes.......I do like my 500!! 1DX , 7D,16-35, 24-70 2.8II, 2.8L II, , 70-200 f2.8LII IS, 300 f2.8L IS, 500 f4 IS, 100-400L, Canon 100 2.8 macro, Canon 1.4X, 580ex, AB800X4

It still doesn't compare to the film pop you get with the 135L. In most situations when I use I decide on the135 and 70-200, the extra stop and IS isn't really the game changer. I shoot mostly headshots/portraits, so the 135L is the go to. For on the go, event work where I'm not always in my Focal length, I'll swap for the 70-200.

It was either too long or too short and I found myself always using the 85 or 70-200 instead so I sold it. Fantastic lens though if the focal length is right for you. www.facebook.com/stageshooter

I am shooting more large format film and the processing costs are not inexpensive. I tried Colortek but they only use dip & dunk for color films, rolling processor for b&w. Duggal in NYC is who I am using now but after shipping costs, the price is too high. I kinda want to try it myself again and wondered if anyone knew anyone who had space/equipment/chemicals... Alternatively, might just shoot and store and then send large bundles to NYC to cut the price-per down and use Colortek for the color and slides. NESOP rents out...and then there is another one somewhere in Boston, I'll ask my girlfriend, but it's like $75/day 2X Canon 1Dx|Canon 1D Mark IV|Canon 5D Mark III|14mm 2.8L II|16-35mm 2.8L II|24mm 1.4L II|35mm 1.4L|50mm 1.2L |85mm 1.2L II|70-200 2.8L IS|200mm 2.0L IS|300mm 2.8L IS|400mm 2.8L IS|800mm 5.6L IS| 580EX II| 600EX RT II|
