Few randoms and a couple ID requests

Took the Nifty 250 into the field to see how it held up, this is the first time i've taken anything but my 70-200 to this preserve. Missed quite a few shots due to the lackluster AF but i think it did well under the circumstances.

Much appreciated. I wasn't aware the Shoveler patterns changed so dramatically out of mating season, hence why i confused it with the BWT duck, in re-consulting with my guide the wings are a perfect match to a shoveler.

In the fall, male ducks go through a molt known as the "eclipse" plumage where most look more like a female.

Really nice images. A fine point regarding Branta canadensis (image 2)...it's Canada Goose.
