I'm very interested in purchasing a "Budget" telescope to start with some really nice closeup of the moon, etc.... nothing that will break the bank!

Looking under 500.00

Can any of you great celestial photographers point me in the right direction. i need. ideally i'd love to attache my Canon 5D MKIII and snap some quality shots, but unlike photography, i'm not sure what to get... i seen this at B&H...

and this:

but again, i have no clue what i'm looking at exactly... f/11???? being into photography i know the does the aperture make a huge, but for astrology??????

thanks for taking out the time to comment, Enjoy your weekend!

You don't want a Alt azimuth Mount for astrophotography, this type of mount is for viewing. You need a equatorial mount (external link)that will be able to track the stars. That said, the mount is the most important component in astrophotography, if you skimp here it'll cause nothing but frustration. Others may have a mount/telescope recommendation suitable for starting out.

This is the "photo Sharing" section, your question would be better in the "Talk" section.

I thought they used a crystal ball for astrology, and I have no idea what aperture those things work out at. For astronomy, f/11 isn't unusual.

At the beginning of time there was absolutely nothing. And then it exploded! Terry Pratchett
