As for camera size etc, it's pretty compact and delivers pretty good photos. My problem is the flash. I've darn near dropped the camera several times due to the flash popping up:( And then it doesn't appear you can just press it down, you either have to go to menu settings to turn it off or shut the camera down.

For me it's just an awkward spot for the flash.

Any thoughts?

I have the 260. I agree. My method is to leave it off until I need it. At least then I know when it is going to pop up.

Dedicated APS-c shooter. Gripped 60D, 60 2.8, 10-22, 15-85, Σ70-200 OS and a big white something or other! Plus a 5D w/28-75.

I probably need to practice enabling and disabling it. I think it's the element of surprise, maybe a warning icon appearing on the screen would help.

If you don't set it to AUTO, it will never surprise you. I only use OFF and ON so I know when it is going to pop up. Oh, I don't use the 'scene' modes, either.

Good plan, thanks.

I agree that the erection of the flash cube can be a nasty surprise, and that that can be avoided by not using the "auto" setting. But just as annoying are the very delicate detents between the flash settings. You have to be very careful not to go past the desired setting. You have to stop everything; you can't walk and change settings at the same time.

Have you tried the high-speed (10fps) burst mode yet? That may help you like it a bit more. It is great fun with moving objects, sports, etc.... That and multi-shot NR. Pretty cool.

Figured I owed y'all an update. Following the advice of YashikaFX2 and TomKelly, the flash issue is resolved.

Additionally I've turned off the Digital Zoom, find the 20x is plenty with crop. Okay, now the Creme de la Creme for me. Setup the WiFi and am totally impressed. Granted I am not d/l'ing hundreds of photos, but for that quick one or two, the WiFi feature is awesome.

Almost sold this camera and now I'm glad I didn't. I'm liking it more and more, can't wait to use the high speed burst feature yet!
