Is there anyone here that has a subscription to "Beginners Start Here" on kelbytraining.com? If so, would you tell me what you think and if it's worth the money?

Thank you!

Thank you!

I became a subscriber on Valentines' Day when they were running a yearly subscription special. The price covers all of the courses for a full year. I think you can rent the class for a limited time, but I'm glad I went with the full year. So many classes, so little time!

I have not seen any class that wasn't top notch, so I'm sure you will be happy with that particular class. I am a long time fan of Scott Kelby. Do you follow him on Facebook or his blog? He has specials quite often.

I'm not sure I'm familiar with the "Beginners Start Here" category of subscriptions (unless that's just the normal subscription and I never noticed what it was called), but I've had a subscription with Kelby Training for about a year now, and I think it's a very worthwhile investment if you're looking to improve your photography and/or processing skills. If you were to take a seminar with any one of the instructors on the site, it would cost you hundreds to thousands of dollars. Granted, that would be for hands-on training and one-on-one time with them, but the videos on the website are probably the next best thing.

Before you pay for video training it might be worth your while to do a quick search in YouTube to see if there is anything there to meet your needs. You can also get free, often in excess of one hour long, videos on various topics related to photography from B&H Event centre on YouTube. Finally, check out Creative Live as well as they have a variety of online courses you can purchase and download to watch at your convenience.

You can certainly find some quality training videos out there for free. For me, though, it was a matter of cost vs. convenience, and the cost of having quality training resources conveniently organized in one location was well worth it. If you're more willing than I to do some searching around, though, that may be the way to go instead.

Thanks for all of the great suggestions and input everyone, I really appreciate it. I think I'm going to splurge and pay for the annual subscription. :)

I'm sure you won't be disappointed, even if you have to pay the full price of $199.00 for the full year. Another great feature is you can stop a class, and then pick up where you left off when ever you want. With your own dashboard, you know what you have watched, and you have a section for favorites.
