So I've been looking through all the info I have been able to in order to choose a camera for when I'm going to a concert and simply can't get one of my dslr's in. I thought it would be a no-brainer as I found the G15 marked down pretty much and then I thought, what about the smaller S110 or S100? My biggest draw to any of these is the big aperture and decent higher-ISO performance.. then I got wind of the Sony DSC-RX100, the Olympus XZ-10 and/or others...

My typical approach to a concert generally includes my trusty 5D MkII and a Sigma 50/f1.4, so I know I won't get that kind of low-light performance, but which would/did you go with and why? Is the Sony worth the extra $$??

Although not as small as the RX100 nor does it have as large of a sensor, it gives better low-light performance due to its fantastic lens. Check out the Panasomic Lumix LX7 (Same camera as the Leica DLux 6). I just picked one up a few weeks ago - first non-Canon I've purchased in awhile and overall so far I am impressed. It's built and handles well (Feels better in the hands than any other point-and-shoot I've held), performs admirably indoors and out, and even better, it's nearly HALF the cost of the RX100.

Definitely worth a look!

Sony NEX-5N gives outstanding low light high ISO performance with the right lens, due to its large APS-C sensor. Perfectly usable down to ISO 3200 or even 6400 in a pinch. I'd avoid the 12800 or 25600 levels.

A good lens would be the 50mm OSS f/1.8 Sony lens for this shooting.

I can't think of anything at the price that would outperform this combo.

Look into the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ200. It has a Leica lens with a constant f/2.8 aperture throughout its entire zoom range. It goes from 25mm to 600mm.
