Black Bear, Cinnamon Bear and Bull Moose

Captured these bears in The Tetons National Park in Wyoming. Wildlife was out a lot this past weekend. Just started looking at what I captured and here are the first ones I have processed. Hope you like them.

All are great shots, the first bear very nice but the Moose is my favorite showing the action, colors and sharpness.

The moose is a great shot. You can see his muscles and tendons straining from one end to the other in sharp detail and a charging moose is one dangerous critter. He doesn't appear to be at full speed but he's running for sure and getting that level of detail on a running moose is just great. I'd love to see that image in it's full resolution. I've rarely seen action shots of moose like that one. It looks like the DOF was perfect for this image too.

What camera did you use? There's nothing in the properties about the camera or the settings. I've gotten some great shots with some really old cameras at times. I'm talking 2 MP digital cameras from the early, early days of digital. I just posted a thread with a photo I took over 10 years ago. I think it looks pretty good for what it is. Really great stuff there; especially that Moose capture. We just spent a week in Alaska and never saw a bull the entire trip, so I'm jealous

Oh man. A moose that close to you and in rutting season!!! You were in incredible danger friend. Moose are the most dangerous animals in the wild. They kill far more people than bears and they do it most during mating season. You are very lucky that moose didn't attack you. I'm not joking here. A bull moose is a very, very dangerous animal. Keep in mind that the largest of them weigh 2500 lbs. and stand 12 feet tall! And during mating season they get super aggressive. You are very lucky to have walked away from that animal. I strongly suggest that you read these web pages for more information. And remember that moose attack more people than black and brown bears combined.

Great shots. I saw those same two bears on Moose-Wilson Road the week before. Caused quite a bear jam hanging in the trees over the road eating service berries!!! Great shots.
