The 6D has the builtin remote control from your Iphone..
Can this be used on the 5D mk3, I do understand that I might have to buy a receiver or something like that.. Please advise.. Thanks

Nick

If you equip a 5D Mark III with the corresponding WFT accessory, then you can control it from any device which can run a web browser. Haven't done it with any 5D Mark III, but my 7D supports it, when equipped with the WFT-E5B network grip. The 1DX supports it out of the box, but via cable only. It takes a WFT-E6B to give that the wireless functionality.

Another option is the CamRanger, which has its own iPhone app and does more than the Canon app. I don't have one, so I can't vouch for its reliability, but it's rated pretty highly on Amazon, etc.
