I have never seen my nextdoor neighbor EVER do anything to keep up his yard in three years!)

Sorry. Can I borrow your shovel?

Cheers, Damien

That's done in the backcountry. In the Valley, you wouldn't find enough privacy.

If you walk from the Lodge to El Capitan after breakfast, you will need to use a toilet. There's no "might" about it, trust me. And the map says there's a toilet there. Yep, that's what the map says.

When you gotta go, you gotta go! And if the you're coming back from El Capitan to the Lodge after sneaking into the park, and the Lodge is closed and locked because the staff was sent home during the park closure... ("oh, the humanity!")

PS I never understood what the announcer meant by that, as he watched the Hindenburg go up in flames!

Round blade or flat blade?
Big or small?
Do you need a pick axe to go with that?!

Last week? Gosh, bps, we could have made plans to meet

That would have been fun! I've enjoyed meeting fellow POTN members over the years.

During the shutdown, Mr. OhLook and I were worried about DNC's employees. The DNC website didn't say what arrangements were made for them. We've noticed that DNC hires a fair number of people for semiskilled jobs who have marginal mental ability and would have a hard time finding work elsewhere. Some have physical problems; I've seen two working in the Food Court with neurological issues, such as hand tremors. It was a relief to hear that employees with limited coping ability weren't thrown out into an unfamiliar environment on their own.

In some parks, residents did have to leave. Utterly unfair. One rule for all, I say.

Good observation and great point! I was worried about similar things too. I know there were many people effected with unintended consequences. I was glad to see that things were handled with some reason at Yosemite, especially for folks with special needs.

Careful with the generosity there. I think he wants to dig a hole in your yard.

The question is, for what does he want to dig a hole?

Hey, bears do it in the woods without digging a hole.

I know your comment is not defending pooping on the ground in the woods, but man, the big difference in wildlife and people is over 4,000,000 visitors are in Yosemite every year. Things would get out of control in a hurry!

I think the phrase is "All the humanity":

"All the humanity and all the passengers screaming around here"

... except that it's been misquoted so much since as 'oh the humanity' in various other situations that it's become a cliche.

OK, I still don't understand what is meant by "All the humanity"

I just listened to the audio slowed down to depict the normal pitch of the announcer's voice (his recorder was running at wrong speed, so we hear a high pitched voice normally) Listening over and over during a 60 sec. segment it is rather unclear if it is 'oh' or 'all"'...when he does say "all the passengers" it sounds somewhat different from '(?) the humanity...'

I think he was that distressed that he didn't know what to say - and probably wasn't thinking straight anyway.
