I bought a "brand new" 6D from Best Buy last week. When they gave it to me, all the extra stuff like the strap, charger and manuals were in a plastic bag under the cash-wrap. I didn't think much of it till I got home. When I opened the box, both the camera and the lens were in the white box inside the regular box. Another weird sign as usually just the lens and charger/battery/strap go in there and the body goes in the main box. Thought nothing of it again.
I then charged the battery, opened up a brand new memory card and snapped my first glorious picture of my kitchen.
I then took out the card, put it into my card reader and opened up the file to see... IMG_000735.cr2 or whatever. The point is, my brand new camera had a first file number of 735.
Is this normal? Do they take 700+ pictures on the assembly line? They said it wasn't a return and it wasn't a floor model.
Needless to say I went in the next day and they ordered me another one. It came in today. I'll report back when I take my first picture with this new camera.
Edit: That may not be very fair. I have had ok experiences with the Best Buy in my area. I'm just frustrated.
