5D mk3 and 6D auto focus differences while filming??

At the moment I am using a 60D but find its focusing while "filming" is a nightmare so have to focus manually.. What are your experiences with the 5D mk3 and the 6D filming and their differences if any?? (as I am really stuck on which one to buy).. Thanks in advance.

That's the state of all of them, more or less, except the new 70D. It has a different hardware concept, which is said to make AF during movie shooting easier.

Both 6D and 5D3 still require you to focus manually.

If you want a somewhat working AF in video, consider the new 70D.

The main difference between 5D3 and 6D in video mode is of course the quality.

6D is known with its terrible moire, and 5D3 is just smoother, sharper and not prone to moire as much.

I really don't understand this fixation on using a stills camera for shooting "movies". There are amazing, purpose designed cameras that can do the job 500 times better so why not buy one of these?

Actually, the cameras like the sl1, 70d, etc that can constantly focus using stm lenses, etc work outstandingly well. In fact my sl1 will track a face constantly, much like any camcorder too.

nicole scherzinger looks 500times better than my wife, still happy with the wife..
