Oct 02, 2013 14:06 | #3 What type of camera - full frame or crop sensor? On a crop sensor camera you might want to hire a 10-22 lens. Fuji XT-3, 18-55 F2-4, 10-24mm, 100-400mm.

On a full frame, it gives you a pretty wide field of view at the 24" end, but a lot more zoom on the long end. I have the 17-40L, 24-105L, and 70-200L, and I would say the 24-105 is on for 75% of my landscape shots. Paul

Phoenixkh a mere speck More info | Oct 04, 2013 15:30 | #9 Since we are talking a crop camera, I have to say, I really like my 15-85 for landscapes. It's wide enough for me, though as some have suggested, the 10-22 is a fine ultra wide for landscapes. Landscapes at F1.4, really? There's this thing called a tripod. Some people use it for landscapes in low light. It gives like 100 stops of IS.

I feel the 17-40 is way too soft for my needs The 17-40 is weak in the outer zones at the widest settings, but is very good across the frame starting at about 20mm when stopped down. The 70-200 may be sharper, but that sharpness won't do much good if something wider than 70mm is needed.
