I would like to get an external flash for my Canon G5.
I need to stay around $125 or so and I found this flash on Ebay.......

What do you think??? Its a Pheonix brand flash I think.

Is it worth the money or wait for a used canon to roll around??

I use a 220ex with my G5 and like it for its size, although no bounce. If you want bounce capabilities, try looking for a used 420ex , or even a 380ex.

I'm not endorsing this person's sale, but they are selling the same items that I use at a very good price. Even the camera bag is simalr to mine in size which holds these items very well.
I used my older 380ex flash with the sto-fen diffuser with my G6, in a Tamrac "digital 8" bag, works very well.

The 380EX is a good flash but not having a swivel head will limit its usefulness. Look for a 420EX -- you should be able to find one for $125 or so...

Is this your 380 or just something you found??

Thanks for the link either way.......QUESTION: Can you swivel the 380 or is it just up and down??

You beat me Twalker......Answered my question.....

The links in my previous post are items that I found on ebay, they are not mine. The head only tilts on the 380ex, the 430ex is better in that it rotates as well as tilts. I still use the 380ex only because I already own one.
