I have been considering the purchase of this lens for some time, particularly once I went full frame. I don't work at this end of the focal length range much but I do know that from time to time it is what I need.

I was pleasantly surprised this week to find that Henry's had a sale on this lens; $699.99 with free shipping (in Canada). I had been monitoring B&H and Adorama both at $839 and even if I could apply for the recently announced $100 mail in rebate, Henry's is still the better buy.

My new lens is on its way and should arrive on Friday.

Gear: A bunch of Canon stuff and a bunch of old Olympus 35 mm stuff (OM-1, OM-2, etc).

It's rare that prices here in Canada are better than prices in the US. I'm sure you'll love the lens! I've had the 10-22mm in the past and loved the wide angle shots. Don't have one right now and was considering the 17-40mm.

Are you too far from Toronto to drive to Henry's? There is one on Markham Rd.

Picked up an eos m kit from them at a great price. I was worried at first because I'm in the states but it was here within a couple days and no fees were added.

You'll like it a lot.

I love my 17-40 for landscapes. Stopped down you can't tell the difference between it and the 16-35 f/2.8 that costs twice as much and weighs more too.
