I have set up a small home studio to take pictures of my family. I am using a 1000W work light for the main light. The light is being diffused by a piece of white nylon fabric. For fill I am using a car winshield reflector. I bought a couple of backgrounds for a better appearance. This is the second weekend of trying these, the first with the backgrounds.

well there's not much wrong with this ,its lit well and looks sharp ,the only thing i see that spoils it is the shadow under the chin, baco foil on cardboard makes a good cheap reflector crumple it up first as that sofens it.

It's evenly lit and well exposed. I'm not sure of the crop. There's quite a lot of air above him, but slightly harshly cropped at the bottom. It may be better to see slightly more of the context below.

His hair is rather dense on top. I can't quite see the eye catchlight, but there are bound to be a few people looking at that for you.

Perhaps my reservation would be that it is technically accomplished, but rather soul less.
