New (to me) Lens Duck

Ha! Well it did not take all that much twisting of the arm to have me take the plunge and pick up a 500mm F4.0 MK1. Saw it come up over on Fred Miranda and hesitated for about an hour. Just enough for one person to get in ahead of me, but then he backed out.

So what's that got to do with birds you say??

The following were the first shots that I took with the lens, mourning doves in the trees in my yard. They were about 30 feet away.

I'm thrilled to get it, most of the shore birds have migrated from here but still some around. I will have lots of time to practice before the spring migration!
