Hey everyone,

It's been a long time since I've posted here so I'm going to use this as a little re-introduction and show off a few shots.

My name is Brian and I'm from Chesapeake, VA. I am by no means a pro but have been shooting off and on for a multiple years. I've been trying to keep myself motivated to shoot but of course life tends to get in the way. Anyways, I recently picked up Adobe Lightroom which has sparked my interest again.

Here are some of my shots. First is my father's 2001 True Blue Bullitt. Fun fact, I used to own this car. Second is my 1995 SVT Cobra. Third is my friend James' 10th Anniversary 2003 SVT Cobra. And fourth is my friend Ed's 10th Anniversary 2003 SVT Cobra.

By all means give feedback. Hopefully I won't get torn apart too badly. I have more pictures coming that I'm still trying to edit now that I have Lightroom. I'll do my best to keep this thread updated.

Respectfully,
Brian

That's a nice group of rides, but too many images.
In the "Share" areas IMAGE POSTING RULES specifically state: "Do not use the forum as your image gallery, post only the best of the best and link to the rest."
This means we allow 2 attachments by the OP per thread, OR 8 embedded (linked) images, OR a combination of 2 attachments + 6 embedded (linked) images, totaling 8 per thread. (Maximum 1024 pixels on any side.) You can always just post a link to more, though, or better yet, post a link to a gallery so we don't have to click on each image link.
Some exceptions are group threads, like "Show Me...", "Post your best...", equipment reviews, Tutorials, etc.
You may add a few additional photos if requested, but only in a reply to other member's post and request.

Also, see the links in my Sig, and...

Looks like I need to re-read the rules. My apologizes. You can delete this thread and I'll post appropriately

There's no good reason to delete it, as the thread is legal now. As I said, "You can always just post a link to more,".

I like your license plate on the white Cobra.First thing that I notice is that all these shots are pretty tight on the cars. Try backing up a little and composing more of the background into the frame and observe the rule of thirds.

Thanks for the feedback. They were cropped in editing because for the longest time I was being told for automotive photography to keep it close like that. Recently I've been told otherwise so I'm starting to apply that.

If you check my flickr account there are some newer shots that aren't as bad.

Overall these shots are uninspirational. While they may be sharp, they all lack the ability to tell a story. All around too busy, too close, and all too common.

My suggestion to you is to find an empty parking lot, and practice your rule of thirds shooting. Learn to make your images breathe. Lay off the high vingetting.

Thanks for your feedback. I have recently started to get away from the high vingetting as you can see in the below shots:

Although after going back and looking at the shot with the "Rule of Thirds" more heavily in mind I do see how my pictures lack the inspiration and story telling. I will definitely take that more into consideration when I'm shooting this weekend.

Thanks for the feedback. It really does help.
