Canon DSLR Speed Challenge #302:Anything at all

Anything at all. This is open to anything that you feel contest worthy.
Standard Rules apply:
Photo Submissions:

1. Camera - Any Canon DSLR Camera
2. Time - any on-topic photo taken at any time is eligible, although photos that have won other competitions should NOT be entered.
3. Size - Please visit Image Posting Rules.
4. Post-Processing - do whatever you like and the host will decide if it works.
5. Posting - * ONE PHOTO per photographer in each challenge.* Photo Name in the message subject line.* Camera model & lens used.* Notes -- post brief EXIF data including ISO, shutter speed and aperture used.
6. Commenting - No commenting during challenge. When the posting is closed and a winner has been declared, comments can be made in this thread.
7. Keep it clean, and both Family and Work safe.
8. Have questions, PM me.
9. Have FUN!


One challenge every week, on the following schedule:

* New Topic - After winner is declared.
* Posting Starts - Right after topic is announced.
* Posting Ends - noon Saturday Oct 12th Central Daylight Time 2013.
* Winner from this competition decides the theme of the next one (and judges it for a winner) after this competition is closed.

Ok we are closed and it was very tough this week. Maureen might have it but she wont be around. Scatterbrained had a great shot as did Jon. The cornfield rocks

but I'm a fool for B&W so Jason for the win....

I also really liked harms image to.

The reason I picked Jason's is the relationship of the reflective surfaces. The windshield and the sunglasses. The frame inside a frame. The way the subjects arm mimics the shape of the window on the far side of the van. And all those wonderful triangles and it's B&W (LoL)

Congrats Jason. Tough picking this week. Gotta put a word in for Kevan's shot ... love it!

This is a just for fun contest and I think I clearly stated so objective reasons I preferred Jason's image. I do agree that creative endeavors should not be competitive, especially if the work is coming from an honest place because ones view of the world can't be more or less valid than another.

And those being judged by everyone aren't personality contests? I personally think real and open critiques that are more about real content not technical would be great but we all see where that goes on open forums where everyone has a voice especially if everyone is not on the same page of the journey.

Personality contests? Would you rather have 3 personalities judge or 100 personalities judge? The chances of getting a better perspective on where you art places in the real world is in better hands with a wider audience. Of course the entire proposition is left to powers beyond reason.

Joe I have seen people tell people on the world wide web to do things like crop out important visual elements and other unbelievable things. I have a good friend that gets very nervous if to many people like her work and I kinda fall into that camp.

I've seen it where the popular ones get all the votes from the crowd.

Thank you Allen for the challenge and the nod, there are some great entries this week. I personally do not enter to be selected to host the following challenge, I just post for the fun of it.

I'll post the next challenge later today.
