Revisited a shot of the Heron from today. This is basically a 1:1 crop.

Hard to tell, but it's a great close shot! Are you liking that new lens or what? :D

Thanks Ian.

I had second thoughts after I sent the money and while waiting for it to arrive, but to paraphrase Charlton Heston:

"You can have my lens when you pry it from my cold, dead hands!!" :D :D

I did not believe the difference in quality that this lens is capable of giving. Once I get used to it, hopefully I will have a lot more posts!

Now to get a 1.4x teleconverter.

I was just about to start editing some Heron shots of my own... but now it seems pointless, I didn't get anything nearly as sharp as that.

No sir! It's never pointless. You have your own shots regardless of how sharp or not that they are. I was very fortunate to be in the right place at the right time with the right equipment to be able to get this shot.

Post away, we're always loving other peoples shots and perspectives.

and thanks for the praise.

Yes, I was lucky it was still early in the morning and the colour of the grass background warms everything up also.

Al, thank you for the kind words I'm so thrilled that I finally took the plunge and bought one.
