new to photography here! :)

hi im dayne ive been looking around here a while and decided to share my flickr to try and get some feedback on some of my photos. i have just started photography about 2 months ago so very new but i think i got the basics down so far. much to learn tho!:p

I really enjoy automotive photography so i have focused on that the most but i always enjoy going on hikes and what not taking photos. have not got the chance to do many portraits yet

i did have a rebel xti but i just got me a 40d but have not got time to shoot with it as i just got it last night. so all shots are with xti with either a 50mm f1.8 55-250mm f3.8-5.6 or with the 18-55mm. (i am saving up for a nicer tamron lens as im a poor collage student and cant afford L glass)

anyways let me know what you all think and what i can try/do to help me improve on my technique etc.. btw only editing done to most pictures is slight tweaking in DPP. here are some samples if you dont want to look thru flickr

hey thanks! oh btw thats not my dog but i used to have a french bull dog now i have an English! also btw alot of your pictures look really good! cant wait to go use this 40d. hopefully i can get some good stuff with it

Try posting a few pics as an example. It's hard for people to judge your entire Flickr. What do you think this is....NASIOC?

Haha, I knew you'd figure it out. Also allow image editing (if you want of course) so people can help you in that area as well.

I think a lot of the shots could really benefit from a "shot in raw and processed" workflow, or at least more PP. A lot of them are composed nicely, keep at it!

i do shoot in raw and processed mostly with DPP. i have not put much time into editing yet but more try and get the right shot and get it all done on the camera first. LR5 would be nice tho. oh and thanks!

In #1 I'd crop out the pot.

never really noticed the tree behind the car looking like that! thank you for the advice tho!
