I'm ready to commit to the 70D. Now, I'm just want be sure if I should get the 70d body from Buydig or purchase one of the kit lens?
Based on my signature, can someone give me some suggestion? Much appreciate.

Again, I mainly plan to use for personal/family usage. I do, however, like to take some portrait shots in the future (may need to purchase few more accessories, light and backdrops, etc).
I probably use video for my family only. And if I have to put a budget for any future lens, I guess I can match to the price of the 70D if it is justifiable

Again, thank you in advance for suggestion and explanations.

I'd get the body only - you're sorted for lenses!

I would do just the body, you already have some good lenses. Use the money you save just buying body to get a new lens if you want something different.

I think you may have missed the boat by not getting the 70D + 18-135 stm, its a VERY good lens for the 70D and a MUST have if you do video. Best of luck with the 70D its a very nice camera.

when I was at BB, I tested 70D with my 28-135mm ultrasonic it looks fine to me. Although the zooming was very choppy but the autofocus was smooth and quiet.
What else am I suppose to look for? Besides, I was under the impression that the STM lens will be slower in focusing compare to the USM. True?

The STM's are more designed for video so they need to be a tad slower (not finding focus but transitioning focus) and smoother...and silent. I got the kit with the 18-55 STM and couldn't be happier. I do a LOT of video work though and wanted something with continuous AF. I did a shoot with that combo and my 5D mk3 wearing the 24-70 II (manually focused). Back at the studio, the footage matched incredibly well and the AF never missed using the face detection. I could have fired my second camera op! ha ha!
In any case, I tested the 70D with my 50mm 1.4 and 24-70 II and they worked extremely well too. It does focus faster. Just the constant chattering of the lens would drive me nuts. So if you plan to do any video, get one of the kit STM lens combos. If you only do stills...get the body.

Thank you for the explanation. Maybe it was my ears but I didn't notice any noise with my canon 28-135 but when I switched the Tamron 17-50 it was very obvious and replay of the video was loud [all these lenses changing was done at Best Buy store]. Please advise.

Another vote for the 18-135 STM. Almost didn't get it as I already have a few lenses. However, the only wide angle I had was the older 18-55. Read some reviews on the 18-135, was impressed with the performance, build, focus speed, etc. Very glad I spent the extra $, it's a great deal for the money when bought as part of the kit. Very good walk-around lens, capable of excellent results. IS works very well also.

LR gives you access to the full Adobe raw converter including lens correction. You can often do all the post-processing you need to in LR, with rare excursions to PSE, and avoid Canon's clunky DPP software. In addition, you get the organisational features of LR.

If you are happy with DPP and PSE, there's probably no real need to get LR, but if you want to make your workflow smoother and simpler, LR offers much.

It's already too late, I guess. But if I were you, I would sell the 28-135 and get the 18-135 STM instead. At least, I'd get a 18-55 STM to use for video. But that's me.

Actually it's not too late. I must have goofed up, my CC was incorrect and never made it last night.
I thought about the STM too but I'm not sure how it [18-50 or the 18-135]will compliment with my setup.
I actually was thinking of selling my Tamron and getting a 18-50mm replacement. Even though I will give up a faster lens, the Tamron Non-VC just makes a lot of noise while in search of focusing and in my hand it's very finicky [the sharpness occurs often while the camera is mounted vs. hand held].

So anymore suggestion? Thanks.

I'll leave that to you whether or not you'd want to sell the Tamron. But between 18-135 STM and 28-135, take a look here and you'll see why I think it's a much better upgrade:

http://www.the-digital-picture.com …omp=0&FLIComp=0&APIComp=0 (external link)

It's a lighter lens with wider wide end and has better IS.

If you shoot still primarily, I'd suggest a 15-85 and then pick up a 18-55 STM just for video. But 18-135 STM is not a bad choice either.

You can launch PSE from Lightroom, adding layer capabilities to Lightroom. The two together are a dynamite combination. Furthermore, you can run most plugins from PSE also, as you can from Lightroom.
