Canada Goose from California.
From Wikipedia:
The Canada Goose was one of the many species described by Carl Linnaeus (external link) in his 18th-century work Systema Naturae (external link).[2] (external link) It belongs to the Branta genus (external link) of geese, which contains species (external link) with largely black plumage (external link), distinguishing them from the grey species of the Anser (external link) genus. The specific epithet canadensis is a New Latin (external link) word meaning "from Canada (external link)". According to the Oxford English Dictionary (external link), the first citation for the 'Canada Goose' dates back to 1772. The Canada Goose is often incorrectly referred to as the "Canadian Goose".

Chuck

So what's your peeve?? The fact that 80% of the world think the name "Canadian Goose" is correct, or the fact that the other 20% (with the exception of you) know it as a Canada Goose but still call it a "Canadian Goose"??

80%? 20%? Numbers you made up don't count. I don't know how the percentages break down for the world in general, but most captioners on this site get the name right.

I thought you were saying the Canada goose itself was a pet peeve of yours. If your area is like mine, pretty or not, their numbers are reaching invasion levels.

Looks like the goose is airing it out, too, Chuck. LOL. Love the shot, except the BG. You caught it just right.

Yeah it's pretty darn hard to play golf here anymore because of the geese.
