And a seminar is an odd place for a launch. You would think that a new product would hit a trade show, someplace with lots of people, press and such.

If it is at a seminar, it's probably the launch of a new sales promotion or company motto. People catch wind of things and let their imagination run wild.

yes, those focusing "issues" ;);)

QUOTED IMAGE

Great shot - while we're (sort of) at it, I have the solution to the issue for the Washington NFL team. They don't need to change the name - just change the logo to the appropriate type of potato!

They should launch a very slow boat to China ...
it will get there before there is a new sensor ...

Breaking news!!!

Canon will no longer be producing dedicated still cameras, but their next generation of video-focused cameras will continue to use the EF mount and have an option of capturing 'stills' by taking individual frames out of a video sequence. Of course, shutter speeds slower than 1/25 will not be possible, given that video capture is at 24-25fps or greater, but slower speeds have been deemed unnecessary due to the high ISO performance of the Canon sensor. The next generation will all be capable of 4k output (8 megapixels), with superb high-ISO capability; work is continuing on an 8k cinema camera for the future.

Awesome! I love video cameras!:lol:

Well, here it is, the 12th and I see that there are a couple of announcements, a city sensitive gallery, expanding an office, and a new service center. I guess there are a few more hours to go in Germany so maybe they are waiting for the end of the day for the big one.

I'd also bet on the next EOS Ms with the 70D's dual pixel AF sensor.

It is the 70D that's being released

The 12th is today.... a Saturday. Canon won't announce anything on a weekend!

They are gonna release a date in which they will discuss the concept of something new and innovative, but you will have to attend this date, to find out the next, only to be told what's in the pipeline for future offering?
