Hello, my name is Michel, I'm 46, live in Toulouse, south of France, and, even if I shot some film 20 years ago, I've taken photography seriously at the beginning of this year; I shoot with 5d mkIII, 24mm 1,4 L, 50mm 1,4 and 100mm 2,8L.

I've been lurking through the site for a few days and decided to join you, so much great photographers here, so much to learn !

I love portraits, being in front of a person and trying to do my best for a result that the person will love, or just capturing a moment of life; here's a portrait of my aunt and little cousin:

Thanks ! I love the idea of having to move with a prime lens; but my next one will be a 70-200 or 70-300, I've got to look for informations here about those lenses.

Welcome! Can't go wrong with either, just need to determine whether or not you need IS and whether or not you need F/2.8.

If I don't get the shots I want with the gear I have, the only optics I need to examine is the mirror on the bathroom wall. The root cause will be there.

There is one thing, actually. When to use sont and when to use sommes. I'm learning with Duolingo, which is pretty good, but the app isn't telling me when to use one or the other...

Easy: "sont", third person plural: "ils sont vieux" (they are old).
"sommes": second person plural "nous sommes vieux" (we are old).
