Just wondered if anyone knew of any copies of the hood (EW-72) were around?
Here in the UK, the actual EW-72 lens hood is £50! Which is silly money to be honest. A 3rd party one is the way to go I feel...but can not seem to find one.

The 35/2 IS is one of the newest Canon lenses... I just don't think anyone has made a clone of the hood for it yet. I'm sure someone will eventually. Alan Myers

The EW-65II "clip-on" style lens hood that was the standard on the old EF 28 actually fits the new EF 28 IS version... so that's all I use. I assume the same would be true for the new/old EF 35 The EW-65 hood barely hangs onto the lenses it was designed for. How well does it stay on the EF 28mm 2.8 IS ? I can pick the 28mm up while it's attached to the 60D by holding just the lens hood... as long as I don't squeeze the clips on the hood it's not likely to move or come off. Here is the old EW-65II on the new EF 28 IS USM............... Very interesting. I doubt an EW-65 would stay on an EF 28mm 2.8 if you picked it up that way.
