Took those shots at home with a speedlite pointed to an umbrella, camera right.
Settings for both pictures are 35mm - f/5.6 - 1/250s - ISO 400

Nice idea! I do prefer the first proposition though. But it's an interesting point of view I can use in other shots for other atmospheres.
