It doesn't bother me and I already use a black rapid double-r

I used to use the black rapid for years and was happy, then I switched to the Spider holster system. Do yourself a favor, log onto their website right now and order one. Seriously good system, neat, tough, simple. You don't have ridiculous shoulder straps flapping around, you just clip the bodies onto your belt and unhitch them when you need them. They're discrete, compact and feel a hell of a lot better.

I'm perfectly happy with the Black Rapid straps thanks.

I would love to switch to a OMD sized system. However ergonomics, AF performance, low light and system support is preventing me. Watching the Sony A7-series closely.

Thanks for the comments.

Yeah, I really do feel that things could change, if only the manufacturers can get the whole package from a smaller body, up to a high enough level in all the areas we demand from a current dSLR.

I'm watching too......

Regards,

Simon

I think the DSLR bubble has been burst years ago. I'm surprised you're surprised.

If you're not NEEDING that fast AF and telephotos, then you can have same or better (sony exmor) quality from mirrorless.

Smaller cameras are great for shooting engagements in places you shouldn't. Small cameras do tend to attract less attention. Not sure I'd want to give up my 1dx though. I am shooting a lot of things hand held I used to use a tripod for. Don;t always need the speed but it's handy. And the AF.... love.

The early X-Pro-1 auto focus was a horror. It made me send the thing back.

Its now much better. And I love the lenses. Small sharp and large apertures. So far I haven't use it for a wedding but I keep thinking I should take it along. Biggest draw back for me is that I use 600EX-RTs throughout the day to enhance the ambient light. Bounce unless there is nothing but water vapor in the air to bounce off. Often, for formals, bridals shots around the city and the reception I have one or more off camera on a stand. Still ETTL and Gr mode.

That's what's holding me back. I have used the X-Pro-1 for editorial work with a bounced manual flash. Worked fine. Only missed focus a couple of times in a dark room during dancing.

Wow.....

I'm back into POTN and really enjoying catching up with some old 'friends'....
AND, I've come across this thread I started a handful of years ago....

....so from the Land of the Rising Sun (which means where almost all your cameras /lenses originate) here's an update!!!!

In a nutshell, 80% of wedding pros I meet here have ditched dSLRs permanently.
Photos and video.
Mostly Sony A7rii and iii are the weapons of choice.

I've never been the photographer (just the dude who conducts the weddings!) but I switched to micro 4/3 two years ago, and haven't looked back once, either for pro work or fun stuff for me.

For me, Olympus' OMD E-M5 mk2 has been a life saver :-D

"Know what you need, and buy THAT" still holds true.

Regards,
Simon
