This is the first "real" shoot I've done. It was for a family member, but I still tried to take it as a real as possible. Kinda hectic in that I don't really have any experience in posing, etc., so I did the best I could.

Would love to hear thoughts and critiques so that I could use it to improve.

Thanks.

EDIT: Sorry... read the rules and changed from a link to the set on Flickr a few I liked from the shoot. Thanks.

I like all of them except #1 it looks hazy like your shooting into the sun.

Thank you. Yeah, first one is hazy and was shot into the sun. :) She had seen a few photos that she liked that were that style, so that's what we did.

Yeah some people like it. I personally like the sharper cleaner looking pictures.

I hear ya. I'm not usually a huge fan of less than sharp photos either.

This is certainly one of the better "first shoot" threads I've seen here, and also much better than some "pro" shots I've seen here. I think you're off to a great start. Very well done. Your exposure is great, the poses work well, and your locations are interesting. People get paid good money to produce photos much less appealing. Congrats on your natural talent.

Like 1&2 most. Not a fan of 4. Not a flattering angle or focal length.

Thanks. What would recommend I change with number 4? Is shooting from above like that just not a good idea? Or do I need a wider lens to make it work?

all of them are wonderful! #1 probably doesn't fit in as much since it has its own different style, but it's still good to me. #3 is ridiculously good.
