great capture on the greenie. They can be a cool game of pop the crest. As you found, they can stay pretty calm even if your close. Move a little closer next time and get in his space. There's a sizable cest laying on top of the head. The excited bird will raise it for about 4 seconds before flying off. Makes a cool shot.

great birds and great start in bird photography.

First bird: Lighting conditions were not on your side and he's not sharp but Comp is good.

Egret: Never shoot a white bird midday with the sun out like that...it blows the whites. Best time would been early morning or before dusk or antyime during an overcast sky. Composition is to tight....give the bird some room in the frame.
