NCAA Hockey UNO vs Bentley

I havent posted anything in here for quite sometime now. Anyways here are some images from this past weekends UNO vs Bentley NCAA hockey games. any CC would be greatly appreciated.

Wow, I think these are fantastic. Great variety, action, white balance and exposure. Really nice set of hickey images. The overhead shots are really cool. Would love to hear a little bit about the setup.

Set up was pretty simple all shot with the 1d mk III or mk II 300mm 2.8 and the over head ones was with the 70-200 and f5.6 ish

Were the images from above taken by remote or in hand? Great stuff!

All by hand just sat up in the catwalk for about a half period each night

We aren't even allowed to take a single shot at our local hockey games. I've been scolded by security for taking a pic of my daughter with my cell phone. We weren't even facing the ice but security saw the flash and told me if they saw me taking pics again, I'd be asked to leave.

I used to have a Tamron 18-270 that I could get into the MN Wild games becuse it locked down at 4 inches. I got some stellar shots when I was sitting in the front row.

I find it funny that College and Pro hockey you can't take in your big fancy camera and lens' but you can at pro football and baseball.

As a media member and a team photog I like the camera restrictions, I wish they would have them at the arena I shoot in. Maybe next year

Great shots Brandon. How hard was it to get the media pass? You are right about Quest not having the restrictions. I took my 100-400 there a couple years ago and they didn't say one thing. I quickly learned that sports photography wasn't for me. I'll stick with real estate photography. I will say we are fortunate to have UNO hockey and a great facility. Look forward to more shots. Hopefully lots! It's always good to a local guy getting all the good kudos!

its wasnt to hard for me to get a media pass, I shoot for the Lincoln Stars and the USHL. we wanted to get some stock images of some of the former players in the league so I just sent in a request to the media director for UNO explaining on what we wanted.
