Just a heads up to those wanting to cash in the rebate cards. I got one when I had an HVAC installed by Carrier this summer and I was able to do a direct one-time transfer to my bank account, so you may want to inquire if that's also possible as it would be much faster. Let us know what you find out.

Al

I was able to do something similar with a Verizon Wireless rebate card that I got from buying a new phone...but when I looked high and low I couldn't find a similar deal for the AMEX cards...

It may or may not have been an Amex card. I transferred the money so fast that I do not even remember what the card looked like. Just wanted them to inquire about it. I have not gotten mine yet, although it's been approved, but I will ask that question if it's not addressed here.

It's my money and I want it now (haha).

Have any of you had the clicking problem with what you've bought off B&H with this sale? Was about to sell mine off on FM, until I noticed the clicking sound and had to cancel sale and refund buyer.

I read about this on FM and tried to hear on mine. I do not hear any clicking sound.

Yep. I was one of the lucky ones who did not get one of the bad ones. Here's a A Thread on the Clicking Sound. It also contains a video of the sound. How long have you had the lens? If outside the return period, your only option is to send to Canon, possibly with a sound clip. Just to let you know, one owner sent one in and it came back with the same sound. Canon said it was all good.

Yes it is! Just call the toll free number on the AMEX gift card sticker, and tell them you would like to receive a check instead. They will ask for your name, address, and phone number. They will give you a reference number, but you can also track with the gift card number later anyways. Until you receive the check and deposit for cash disposal, your gift card will be suspended (obviously).

I just called Amex and they will transfer funds to a bank account. It takes 15 business days.

Ok, I think I'll try that next time... What kind of information did you have to give them? Just basic contact information and bank account information I assume?

Yes, the bank account and routing code, verify address and home number.

Have you gotten your check?

No, not yet. It has been exactly 5 business days so I think I still have long ways to go. Perhaps we might get the funds at around same time (since yours is 15 and mine is 20 business days..)? I don't really care either way, but it's just good to know we have an option to receive in cash vs gc. :D

Yep. I want to apply the rebate to my CC. Amex is not accepted at some places that I may go to either.

The rep ask why I wanted cash instead of using the Amex card, which he stated is accepted at..... I told him I like cash best.

No problem Tigerkn.

You can also cash out the Amex card via amazon payment.

Guys, I wanted to give you an update. I received the $300 refund check today. So, let's see. I requested for a refund check on 11/4 night and received it on 11/21. That makes it around a 13 business days turnaround. Not bad at all if you ask me. They had initially told me I should receive the check in about 20 business days but this is 7 business days sooner!
