I picked up a new 5D MK II at below market value and since I already have a 5D MK II with under 16K clicks I am wondering which one I should keep. How much more would the new one (3 clicks) sell for and at what would be a fair price?

$1300?

I see them around $1300 on craigslist with like 20,000 - 40,000 pictures on the body

I'm sure you could get $1500-1600 for it if it only has 3 clicks on the body.

I have never seen a mark II lower then like 1100-1200 dollars.

Don't live up to your username....sell both and get a 5D3 :p

Actually, since he bought another, he is technically out that much money, so selling both might not be an option if the money used was not disposable.

What if I trade the one with 3 clicks for a used 6D? Would that be of equal value? That would give me the opportunity to test side by side and maybe keep the 6D. I liked the size and weight of the 6D when I held one.

What do you shoot? If mostly stationary then move to 6d is nice. between 5dmk2 and 6d, I will take 6d.

I was originally debating with myself whether to sell my 5D2 to slim down my equipment.

In the end I decided to keep it forever & will pass it to my son when he grows up.

Value wise, here in Australia, most of the 2nd 5D2 were sold around AU$1400-1600 depending on the shutters & body condition. Add a genuine grip & extra batteries, I've seen one gone for $2000.

The 16k clicks wouldn't make much difference. Why not just return the 5D2 you bought and buy a 6D? I doubt someone with a 6D is going to want to trade down to a 5D2.

Honesly, will be hard to find someone to trade with. You will probably have to throw some cash towards the 6d.

Some people still prefer 5D2 compared to 6D.
If I had a 6D, I'd gladly trade it with a 5D2 really.

I was under the impression the 6d was nicer then the 5d II and compared as a baby 5d3.
